Recently, the official released the preview image of the production version of BMW XM. According to sources, the production version of BMW XM is expected to be launched on September 27 and mass production will be carried out before the end of the year. As a full-size SUV independently developed by BMW M Division, the production version of BMW XM is expected to be introduced to the domestic market in 2023.

The released preview shows that the huge kidney grille on the concept car has been reduced in size on the production model. Like the BMW X6, the grille can be lit up. The two sides are designed with split headlights, and the LED daytime running lights on the top look very compact and exquisite.

Referring to the previously published patent drawings, the side lines of the car have been restrained, including the wheel arch design, which is significantly simpler and more conventional than the concept car. The door handles adopt a conventional style, and the rearview mirror is a classic M model. The horn design is unique, but the waistline rising from the front window line is still retained. In addition, the new car has a charging port on the left front and a fuel port on the right rear.

The rear of the car still uses four vertically stacked exhaust exhausts, a contrasting color design, and an irregular-shaped rear windshield, while the taillight shape is more traditional, and the rear bumper and diffuser shapes have also been adjusted.

Although the interior is wrapped in a large area of camouflage, the production version of BMW XM will adopt a new interior design style. It will be equipped with a through-screen composed of a full LCD instrument and a central control screen. The vehicle system will use the latest iDrive 8 system.

In terms of power, the BMW XM production version is equipped with a plug-in hybrid system composed of a new 4.4L twin-turbocharged V8 engine and an electric motor. The system has a maximum power of 485kW and a peak torque of 884N·m. Matched with an 8-speed automatic transmission and equipped with M xDrive system. In addition, the entry-level model is a six-cylinder plug-in hybrid version.
