On April 22, SAIC MG released the official image of the new electric supercar EXE181 and announced that the new car will be officially unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show and will also appear at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed ​​in July this year. EXE181 was built by SAIC's British forward-looking design center to pay tribute to the classic and legendary sports car EXE181 in MG's history.

As a legendary sports car in MG history, in 1959, MG EX181 created a 20th century record of 410.5km/h.Extreme speed. The challenger at the time, Phil Hill, became the first American F1 world champion two years later. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the MG brand and the 20th anniversary of the first F1 Grand Prix in China. The new electric supercar EXE181 is a tribute to the "Roaring Raindrops" and also demonstrates MG's pursuit of speed in the electric era.

From a styling perspective, the new car adopts a very avant-garde and sci-fi design style, quite like a super sports car from the future. Every design detail of the car body is telling the flavor of aerodynamics. Officials said that the wind resistance coefficient of the new car is only 0.181Cd.

In terms of interior, the new car is designed with only one driver's seat. The overall style continues the simple idea of ​​​​the appearance. The stylish racing steering wheel tells us that this is a performance beast. In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with SAIC's three-electric technology and can accelerate from 100 kilometers to 100 kilometers in just 1.9 seconds.
