Bitauto's original Changan UNI-K iDD was officially launched on March 10, with a current guide price of 182,900-198,900 yuan. The shape of this car is highly consistent with the Changan UNI-K fuel version, and it is powered by the "Blue Whale iDD plug-in hybrid system". No number limit, no purchase tax, and low vehicle costs are the three most prominent advantages of new energy vehicles. We have also conducted a fuel consumption test on Changan UNI-K iDD before, and the trip computer showed 6.4L/100km. We actually measured the combined fuel consumption of Changan UNI-K iDD when it was under power, which was 5.26L/100km.

Today’s topic will continue to focus on the fuel consumption of Changan UNI-K iDD. Different from the power loss fuel consumption test, our fuel consumption distance for this test is 200km, trying to restore the actual scene of our car use as much as possible. The specific rules are here Tell everyone later, don't go away.

1. Review of the highlights of the power system

Before starting the fuel consumption test, let’s review the highlights of Changan’s UNI-K iDD power system. It is Changan's first model equipped with the Blue Whale plug-in hybrid system. The entire hybrid system consists of the Blue Whale NE1.5T hybrid special engine, the Blue Whale three-clutch electric drive transmission, a large-capacity power battery and the Blue Whale iDD battery. The control system consists of 4 major units.

Blue Whale NE The 1.5T hybrid-specific engine has a maximum power of 125kW and a peak torque of 260N·m. The drive motor working in conjunction with the engine has a maximum output power 85kW, maximum torque 330N·m, comprehensive torque of the entire power system 590N·m,The power battery capacity is 30.7kWh.

Blue Whale NE 1.5T hybrid special engineIt adopts industry-leading technologies such as Blue Whale engine's efficient and agile combustion system and intelligent lubrication system. On this basis, Miller cycle technology is further used. The expansion stroke of the piston is greater than the compression stroke, resulting in a higher compression ratio to improve combustion efficiency. To put it simply, these technologies can also improve fuel economy while ensuring power.

In terms of battery design, UNI-K iDD lays the battery pack flat on the chassis. Based on the large-capacity battery pack design, Changan did not hesitate to use BEV battery development ideas and safety standards to require a PHEV power battery. While the dustproof and waterproof rating of most BEV batteries is only IP67, the UNI-K iDD, as a PHEV model, has a dustproof and waterproof rating as high as IP68.

Changan UNI-K iDD has three driving modes to choose from, namely EV, HEV and i-X modes. EV and HEV are pure electric and hybrid modes respectively. i-X mode can be simply understood as user-defined mode.

It can be seen that Changan UNI-K iDD has benefited from the blessing of new technologies, and its fuel economy has also been improved. Battery safety is based on higher standards, with a dustproof and waterproof rating of IP68, laying a solid foundation for driving safety.

2. Test route and rules

This fuel consumption test starts from the Chengdu Third Ring Expressway and goes to Dujiangyan, passing through the Rongchang Expressway, with a total distance of about 200km. The entire process includes urban congested sections, highways, and expressways. Among them, the urban and expressway sections are about 130km, and the highway section is about 64km, simulating daily commuting, self-driving travel and other scenarios.

Part of the route of this fuel consumption test

During this test drive, we turned on the second-speed air conditioner, the temperature was 23°C, and the air conditioner compressor was turned on. The driving mode is automatically switched by the vehicle, that is, the vehicle independently selects EV mode and HEV mode. Two people in the car, one in the front rowThe driver, and a cameraman in the back. After the test, the fuel consumption score is calculated based on the final refueling volume.

Before the test started, we fully charged the vehicle and then drove to the nearest gas station to fill up the tank. Because there is a long distance to drive to the gas station, the pure electric cruising range is reduced. At this time, the vehicle's pure electric cruising range is 122km and the fuel cruising range is 841km.

To ensure that the data is for reference, we clear the mileage data before departure.

3. Test process and results

Before entering the expressway, there is about 35km of urban + expressway section, which is quite congested. The vehicle is in EV mode at this time, and I personally feel that the performance of NHV is very good. The vehicle accelerates briskly and is flexible to drive. You won't even feel like you are driving an SUV weighing more than 2 tons. If your daily commute to get off work is within 100km, I highly recommend using the EV mode.

After entering the highway, the NHV performance of Changan UNI-K iDD is still excellent. In addition, the space is spacious, the seats are soft, and the ride comfort is very good. The highway section was very smooth, and there were no traffic jams throughout the process, which also increased the average speed. However, the vehicles on this section of the highway are still running on pure electric power. High-speed driving will increase power consumption, and the latter part of the journey will enter the fuel driving state in advance.

After getting off the highway, we observed the vehicle's driving computer and found that the mileage was 92.3km. At this time, the meter showed that the fuel consumption was only 1.3L/100km. It can be seen that the engine intervention is not many. It is worth noting that Changan UNI-K iDD has three driving modes, namely EV, HEV and i-X mode. Different driving modes will have different fuel consumption. The indicated fuel consumption of 1.3L/100km is a good example. When the vehicle runs purely on electric power, the engine is rarely involved, so the fuel consumption is very low.

When traveling by car for short distances, you can also give priority to EV mode, which can reduce a lot of fuel consumption. If the distance is long, , long-distance self-driving, then you can use HEV mode, whichThis can not only ensure fuel economy, but also ensure that the vehicle has sufficient power when accelerating at high speeds.

On the return trip, urban Chengdu was already very congested. Whether it was the third or second ring road, navigation was booming. fire. At this time, the vehicle was very close to running out of power. After we entered the third ring road, the driving mode automatically switched from EV mode to HEV mode, and the fuel consumption was also increasing.

Arrived at the destination, the test is over. At this time, the vehicle mileage is 200.5km, and the fuel consumption is 4.8L/100km. Driving time is 5 hours and 21 minutes. When we went to the gas station to refuel, the fuel gauge showed that the final refueling volume was 8.1L. The calculated Changan UNI-K iDD's comprehensive fuel consumption was 4.05L/100km.

Edit summary:

Changan UNI-K iDD performs well in terms of fuel economy, delivering a fuel consumption score of 4.03L/100km . According to official information, the Changan UNI-K iDD NEDC comprehensive fuel consumption is 0.8L/100km. The fuel consumption will vary depending on driving conditions and driving habits. Compared with traditional fuel vehicles, UNI-K iDD has better fuel economy. During the test, Changan UNI-K iDD's NHV performance was very good, with strong acceleration and a comfortable riding experience. If you want to buy an SUV with large space, rich configurations, and low driving costs, you might as well take a look at this UNI-K iDD.
